You should also backup your ctrl and text directories since they have your configs and menu files. Also mods for any changes. You could just backup xtrn once to keep the settings and then any files that change on a more regular basis. You can get a really Linux cheap storage VPS (check out lowendbox or lowendtalk). My last backup took 5 minutes across the Atlantic.

I finally decided on using the xcopy and copy commands and batch files I wrote. Various switches like /d and such to make sure it only copies files that have changed since last back up. I made it a timed event for daily on some things and weekly for others. It runs very smoothly and faster than windows copy.

I do a full backup on the bbs once a week, I am beginning to think a differential backup would be better and faster. I am backing up to a 10 tb usb.
It takes 45 minutes right now. What are the critical folders to back up in your
opinion. I am just using the copy command. What do you use and what areas do you backup?

Thank you. I have been using xcopy with /d option and doing a full backup every day now in 4 minutes or less. It only backs up files that have changed since last copy or new files. I will definitely check it out though. Have a great day.
